Reinvent your business with the best Salesforce Consultancy
Salesforce Vlocity, now Salesforce Industries, is what we at Advayan implement, extend, and modernize for communications, media, and energy companies. We configure industry data models, build guided processes in Omnistudio, connect billing and ERP systems, and move legacy Vlocity orgs to the Omnistudio standard runtime.
Salesforce Vlocity is the industry software Salesforce acquired in 2020 and now sells as Salesforce Industries. It adds prebuilt data models, product catalogs, and guided processes for sectors such as communications, media, energy, utilities, insurance, and health on top of the core Salesforce platform. Many teams still call the whole stack Vlocity.
As a service, Salesforce Vlocity work covers choosing the right industry cloud, configuring its data model, building Omniscripts, Flexcards, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures in Omnistudio, setting up Industries CPQ and order management, and integrating billing, ERP, and network systems. For orgs still on the original Vlocity managed package, it also covers migration to the Omnistudio standard runtime.
Each industry cloud ships with its own data model and processes. These are the ones our team configures, with the processes we build on each.
Product catalog, quoting, order capture, and order decomposition for telecom and broadband providers, with handoff to billing and provisioning systems.
Advertising sales and subscriber management for broadcasters, publishers, and streaming businesses, with guided flows for agents handling plans, renewals, and upgrades.
Customer service, move-in and move-out, rate plan changes, and service orders for utilities and energy retailers, integrated with billing and meter data systems.
Insurance, health, and public sector clouds share the same Omnistudio foundation. We scope these on request after reviewing your licenses and processes.
Eight services cover the full life of an industry cloud, from the first roadmap to ongoing release management. Each one is scoped and priced as a separate line in your proposal.
Salesforce Vlocity Consulting
We review your products, order flows, and current systems, then recommend the industry cloud, licenses, and build sequence that fit. You receive a written roadmap with scope, risks, and effort estimates before committing to delivery.
Salesforce Industries Implementation
We configure the industry data model, product catalog, pricing rules, and user permissions for your chosen cloud. Delivery follows the same staged approach as our Salesforce implementation services, with data migration and user training included.
Omnistudio Development
Our developers build Omniscripts for guided processes, Flexcards for at-a-glance customer views, and Data Mappers and Integration Procedures for data movement. Components are designed for reuse, version controlled, and documented for your admins.
Industries CPQ and Order Management
We set up the enterprise product catalog, bundles, pricing, eligibility rules, and quote-to-order flows in Industries CPQ. Orders are decomposed and passed to fulfillment, billing, and provisioning systems with status returned to Salesforce.
Vlocity Managed Package Migration
We move Omnistudio components from the Vlocity managed package and custom data model to the Omnistudio standard runtime. The work includes assessment, Salesforce's Migration Assistant, manual rework where automation stops, and regression testing.
Salesforce Vlocity Integration
Industry clouds depend on billing, ERP, and network systems. We connect them using Integration Procedures, our Salesforce integration services, and MuleSoft integration services where an API layer is needed, with error handling and monitoring.
Agentforce and Data 360 for Industries
We add Agentforce agents that answer routine customer and employee requests using your industry data and Omnistudio processes. Data 360 unifies records from billing, usage, and service systems so agents and users see one profile.
Salesforce Vlocity Support
After go-live, we fix defects, tune slow Omniscripts and Integration Procedures, and test your org against each Salesforce release. Ongoing cover is provided through our Salesforce support and maintenance team under an agreed service level.
Omnistudio is the low-code toolset inside Salesforce Vlocity. This is what our team delivers with each of its four components and where it shows up for your users.
Step-by-step guided processes for quotes, orders, service requests, and onboarding
Agent console, Experience Cloud sites, and mobile
Summary cards that pull account, asset, and billing data into one view with actions
Record pages and customer portals
Read, transform, and write operations between Salesforce objects and JSON or XML
Behind every Omniscript and Flexcard
Server-side calls that combine several data sources and external APIs in one request
Behind guided processes that need outside data
Share your products, order process, and the systems involved. We will come back with a recommended industry cloud, a phased roadmap, and an itemized estimate you can take to your stakeholders.
Salesforce is moving Omnistudio off managed packages. Its developer blog states the goal of moving all customers to the Omnistudio standard runtime, and Omnistudio has been package-free for new customers since Summer ’25. If your org still runs the Vlocity Industries package, here is how we move you across without disrupting your teams.
Our team scopes and rehearses the entire migration in a sandbox first, so your users keep working on the current runtime until the agreed cutover date.
We use Salesforce’s Omnistudio Migration Assistant to automate the move for your Omniscripts, Flexcards, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures.
Salesforce documents that Industries CPQ and Hybrid CPQ are not supported by the assistant, so our developers plan and rebuild those areas by hand.
Our QA team regression tests converted Apex, Lightning web components, and Experience Cloud pages, and we keep a rollback path in place until you sign off the new runtime.
Before a migration or a rescue project, we run a fixed-scope assessment of your Vlocity org. It ends with a written report and a walkthrough covering these items.
Book an assessment and find out exactly what will convert automatically, what needs rebuilding, and how long the move should take, before you set a date or a budget.
Every Salesforce Vlocity project runs through six stages. Each stage has a defined output that you review and approve before the next one starts.
Four engagement models are available. Whichever you pick, the proposal lists effort by phase and role, and Salesforce licenses are quoted separately from our services.
| MODEL | Best for | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed Price | A defined scope such as an assessment or a single-cloud rollout | One agreed fee tied to milestones |
| Time and Material | Programs where requirements are still taking shape | Actual hours at agreed rates, reported each sprint |
| Dedicated Resource | Ongoing Omnistudio development or support capacity | A monthly rate per specialist |
| Hybrid | Large programs with a fixed core and changing extensions | Fixed fee for the core, hourly for changes |
Industry cloud, Omnistudio, Agentforce, and Data 360 licenses are purchased from Salesforce and never bundled into our fees.
Timelines and costs are estimates until discovery is complete.

Our Salesforce Vlocity team works across the industry cloud and the systems connected to it. Here is what that means on every engagement
We fit your processes to the standard industry data model and Omnistudio components before writing code. Less customization means easier upgrades, lower support cost, and a simpler path to the standard runtime later.
Our team works with both the original Vlocity managed package and the current Omnistudio standard runtime. That matters when your org mixes old and new components, or when a migration runs alongside live projects.
Orders, billing, and inventory usually live outside Salesforce. Because we also deliver MuleSoft and SAP work, one accountable team designs the industry cloud and the interfaces it depends on, without handoffs between vendors.
Every Omniscript, Flexcard, Data Mapper, and Integration Procedure is documented and stored in version control. Your admins receive training and a component guide, so your team can maintain and extend the solution independently.
Whether you are starting a new industry cloud or modernizing a Vlocity org, tell us where you are. We will reply with a clear scope, an itemized proposal, and a realistic delivery plan.
Questions
Everything you need to know about our Salesforce support. Can’t find your answer? Feel free to contact us.
Salesforce Vlocity is industry-specific software built on the Salesforce platform. Salesforce acquired Vlocity in 2020 and now offers it as Salesforce Industries. It provides prebuilt data models, product catalogs, and guided processes for communications, media, energy, utilities, insurance, and health organizations, alongside Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
Yes. Salesforce Industries is the current name for the products that came from Vlocity. The products and tools are the same. The Vlocity name still appears in older orgs, managed package namespaces, and job titles, which is why many teams continue to search for Vlocity services.
Yes. Many organizations still run the Vlocity Industries managed package in production. New projects are built on current industry clouds with the Omnistudio standard runtime, while existing Vlocity orgs are supported and migrated over time. Both situations are common, and we work with each.
Omnistudio is the low-code toolset used across Salesforce Industries. It includes Omniscripts for guided processes, Flexcards for summarized data, Data Mappers for reading and writing data, and Integration Procedures for server-side calls. Most configuration is done without code. You may also see it written as OmniStudio.
They are the same tool. DataRaptor was the Vlocity name, and Salesforce now calls it Omnistudio Data Mapper. It extracts, transforms, and loads Salesforce data for Omniscripts and Flexcards. Nothing changes in what the tool does. Existing DataRaptors are carried across as Data Mappers during a standard runtime migration.
Salesforce has stated its goal of moving all customers to the Omnistudio standard runtime, and new customers have been package-free since Summer '25. Check Salesforce's current guidance for dates. We recommend an assessment now so the migration can be planned around your other projects.
Salesforce documents that the Migration Assistant does not support Industries CPQ or Hybrid CPQ, and that Data Mappers with multiple versions cannot be migrated as they are. Custom code also needs retesting. These areas need manual planning, which our assessment identifies and estimates before any work starts.
Our core work is in Communications Cloud, Media Cloud, and Energy & Utilities Cloud. Insurance, health, and public sector clouds use the same Omnistudio foundation, and we scope those on request after reviewing your licenses, processes, and integration needs. Ask us about your sector on the first call.
It depends on the industry cloud, catalog size, number of integrations, and data migration effort. A single-process rollout is shorter than a full quote-to-order program. Phased delivery lets you go live with one process first. We provide a phased estimate after discovery and confirm it with you before delivery begins.
Cost depends on scope, integrations, and the engagement model. We do not publish flat prices. Your proposal is itemized by phase and role, and Salesforce licenses are quoted separately by Salesforce, so you can see exactly what our services cover. Estimates are confirmed after discovery.
Yes. We use Integration Procedures for calls made inside guided processes and MuleSoft or direct APIs for system-to-system flows. Typical connections include billing, ERP, provisioning, and payment systems, each documented with field mappings and error handling. Monitoring is set up so failures are visible to your team.
Yes. Agentforce agents can use industry data and call Omnistudio processes to complete tasks, and Data 360 can unify records from billing and usage systems. Both require their own Salesforce licenses. We start with one or two well-defined use cases and expand once results are measured.
Both are supported. Flow suits internal automation on standard objects. Omnistudio suits multi-step guided processes that pull data from several systems and appear in portals. Many orgs use both side by side. We recommend based on your licenses, existing components, and who will maintain the solution.
Yes. We begin with an org assessment that inventories every component, identifies performance and security issues, and flags migration blockers. After you review the report, we take over support and enhancements. Broader advice is available through our Salesforce consulting services.
We fix defects, tune performance, add enhancements, and test your org against each Salesforce release before it reaches production. Response times, coverage hours, and monthly reporting are defined in a support agreement that you can scale up or down. The same team that built your solution supports it.
